As Northeasterners, we are fortunate to experience the sights, sounds, scents and tastes of all 4 seasons, but none are quite as beloved as Fall in New England. Images of  clear blue skies, blazing fall colors, and fun fall activities come to mind. 

Celebrate autumn with the ultimate fall activity of apple picking!  Check out some of the area’s best apple orchard picking spots. Set out for a day filled with hayrides, warm doughnuts, and apple cider!


Bolton - Nashoba Winery

Harvard - Carlson Orchards

This 100 acre working farm is run by the second generation of Carlsons.  The home orchard features 50 acres of rolling green fruit trees with a variety of berries, peaches and nectarines … and over 20 varieties of apples!

Peabody - Brooksby Farm

Owned by the City of Peabody, Brooksby Farm is a 270 acre farm and apple/peach orchard located in the heart of Peabody just 20 miles North of Boston. They offer seasonal pick your own fruits, farm store, barnyard animals and their own vegetables.


Phillipston - Red Apple Farm

They offer a diverse array of pick-your-own crops from July through October. You can pick apples, blueberries, raspberries, peaches, pumpkins, sunflowers, and even “dig your own” potatoes! Be sure to also check out their annual fairs & festivals!

In addition to their farm stand, with over 50 acres of apple trees and more than 20 varieties of eating and cooking apples, Dowse Orchards also has a variety of plantings of trees where you can ‘pick your own’.  


South Natick  - Belkin Family Lookout Farm

Belkin Family Lookout Farm is one of the oldest continuously working farms in the United States. In addition to their fruit U-pick, Lookout Farm grows fresh local fruit for wholesale to many regional restaurants and markets as well as farm fresh hard cider and beer.


Stow  - Honey Pot Hill Orchards

Founded in 1926, this farm has grown from a 70 acre all purpose farm to 186 acres of apples, peaches, blueberries and other small crops.  Owned and run by the Martin family for four generations now. 

 

Stow - Shelburne Farm
